1209 Sumac Ln Northfield, MN 55057

Listing details for 1209 Sumac Ln, Northfield, MN 55057 : One of a kind. This custom home was architecturally designed by Northfield architect, Wm Brodersen and built by Northfield area contractor, Schmidt Homes. An elegant blend of mid-century modern & prairie style design where form is function. The spaces are flowing and open, reflecting the surrounding environment and resonating with simplicity, an organic warmth, and a sense of calm. Here you will find handmade craftsmanship instead of the massed produced. Brilliantly designed with multiple-use rooms, the perfect position toward the sun and outside views in all seasons, a beautiful balance of materials – stone, glass, cedar, maple, cherry, a place for everything, good-sized rooms, in-floor heat, central air, a screened porch and a yard with sun and shade for gardening. See supplements for details, a brochure on the house written by the owner for the 1995 Northfield Historical Society Home Tour and a note from the architect about the design of this home.
